One Morning in Maine
After we moved to Seattle, our good friends the Simisters renovated a family vacation home near Rockland, Maine, and we have been itching to go there for years now to spend a weekend with them. We got up there last week and spent a wonderful Father's Day weekend with Tom, Kezia, and their adorable little girl Scarlett.
To prepare Thomas we had been doing regular readings of "One Morning in Maine," and while Thomas does not yet have a loose tooth, we did see all kinds of wildlife.
Along with this baby seal we saw an adult seal in the water fishing; two fish hawks; seagulls; spitting clams, and chipmunks. Throw in a pretty dramatic tide change in your backyard, and you have a very special place.
Not to mention the wonderful company, whom we have missed these last 4 years. Thank you to our awesome hosts!
