Working things out
Thomas and I went on little trip to the zoo this morning after his pre-school recital to decompress and process. Apparently he really needed some time for reflection because as we were there in the playground he stopped to ask some questions:
Thomas - "Is Jonathan new?" (Jonathan is a kid in his pre-school)
Me - "What do you mean, Thomas?"
Thomas - "Is Johnny Cash very old?" (ah, he means, is Jonathan young)
Me - "Yes, he is."
Thomas - "Is Johnny Cash in Heaven?"
Me - "Yes, he is."
Thomas (after a little pause) - "Is Pennsylvania Heaven?"
Me (laughing) - "No, no it is not."
Thomas - "What is Heaven?"
Me (not laughing anymore) - "That is a hard one to describe."
Thomas (still looking for an answer)
Me - "I suppose it is the best place you could ever imagine, with all the people you love, right there."
Thomas (still looking at me)
Me - "It is up there, high above the clouds."
Thomas - "OK" (continues to play)

Said perfectly...Thomas is growing into his 'wonder' stage...so nice of you, Nick, to write it all down. Love Mom
