Bedtime Story

I guess the last time I read a children's book was when I was a child, and upon reading a few to Thomas lately I was quickly reminded why they are indeed for children. Since Thomas cannot really focus on pages yet and since we need a story to run longer than a few minutes, we have decided to read him a chapter a night from the new Dave Eggers adaptation of "Where the Wild Things Are" titled "The Wild Things." Some of the subject matter is a little PG-13 if you ask me, but I have been able to use these moments for some teaching points.
